The Virginia warmth heat has officially set in and I am preparing all manner of summer recipes to share with you all! I dread the summer heat but I love the bounty of fresh foods and herbs that come along with it.
Are you doing anything especially fun for Cinco De Mayo? I’m making us a double batch of these crispy pork tacos - our favorite meal ever - and I really cannot think of a better way to celebrate!
Have you tried the hazelnut spread M&M’s? I was a little disappointed to be honest. I just felt like the hazelnut was overwhelming and I would have liked the filling to be a little softer and creamier. Womp. Womp.
Okay, so maybe I’m weird but this sounds so unappetizing to me. Guacamole cheese?
Um, I think I need a Robotic planter now.
To my fellow make-up lovers, I am switching eye liner for the first time in six years and giving this one a go. I’m making bold strides these days.
We have company all weekend and I am ready with a 5-pound bag of Swedish Fish and all the tacos and doughnuts. What are you up to?
Let’s make wings a summer food!!
Hi there! Happy Friday! I hope you are in possession of all the iced coffee and ready to conquer this last weekday with confidence. I could not be more excited for the weekend, because this is the weekend I have been looking forward to all summer. Yep, tomorrow is Taco Festival and me and my taco t-shirt (yes, I’m serious) are ready to live our best lives. You can follow the heavenly madness over on my Instagram, if you are into that sort of thing.
If you come to my house, I will usually have cake. I might also make the very worst kinds of puns that only my husband could appreciate, or find a clever (read: awkward) way to insert a “You’ve Got Mail” quote into our conversation. But, as thanks for your expected appreciation of who I am, I will offer cake and, usually, a really good cup of tea.
This is one of those times where I need you to trust me.
I hope you all had an incredible 4th of July!
There was a time when I hated curry.
Let’s make this thing that I dreamed up!
I’m not sure if it is a dessert or brunch - it’s most likely both, but it is unapologetically lazy and mildly life-changing.
There was a time in my life where my morning ritual consisted of venturing out to my swing set to blare the Enchanted soundtrack at 7am before making my way to the garden. Being the heat-intolerant 11-year-old that I was, my job was to pick our over-sized vegetable garden - a task best done before the sweltering Virginia heat set in. This meant gathering baskets of green beans, armfuls of zucchini, piles of pumpkins, and up to one hundred cucumbers each day.
Yes, one hundred cucumbers.
My mother had a very green thumb when it came to cucumbers, zucchini, and eggplant.
