Happy, happy Friday! I have been anticipating this weekend for ages because it is the first weekend in quite some time that Mr. Pedantic and I will be spending with just each other. We do have a few tiny commitments here and there, but overall I will have him to myself.
January is at an end, and I have to say that it was rather splendid. I had purposed in my mind to intentionally enjoy the month that I have always met with such dread in previous years, and, to my delight, I did. Intentions really do have great bearing upon results.
February, on the other hand, was kicked off with a rather depressing load of tax prep which is likely my most hated task. While self-employment has its glamour, the downsides certainly make themselves known come tax time. Bleh. I need chocolate.
Speaking of which, have you had these dark chocolate orange sticks? They are so good if you keep them in the freezer. I love having them alongside my morning tea.
This guide on buying olive oil was spot on. My favorite every day olive oil is Trader Joe's Organic Unfiltered Greek Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
Have you made this sparkling blood orange chai yet? If not, this weekend is the perfect excuse!
Our tea stock was dwindling, so Mr. Pedantic and I put in a big order to Fortnum and Mason this past week. Their tea is our favorite. We especially love Countess Grey and Breakfast Blend. Tea is my daily vice.
I have an extra special surprise coming to you on Monday, followed by ALL of the Valentine's Day recipes! I cannot wait!
Happy, happy weekend!
I am still trying to wrap my head around the fact that we are already here. September 21st. Exactly one month from our second anniversary. The first (official) day of the most wonderful season of all. The end of our first week homeowners. It’s kind of a big day.
There’s a little something I do. It’s a habit of sorts, but, unlike most of my habits, this is one I strive to maintain rather than suppress.
It’s Monday! Hopefully you drank all the cider and pumpkin spice lattes and are ready to join with me in a giant bowl of salad. Let’s do this.
I am basking in the gift of electricity by pouring myself a second cup of tea and reviewing paint swatches.
In our current world of luxurious apples with titles longer than most of the English aristocracy, my heart goes out to the often-neglected pear.
The boxes are beginning to pile up, the paint has been purchased, and a sense of transition mingles with the comfort of my pumpkin-scented candles.
There are so many exciting things happening right now! So many links, candles, and cozy sweaters! It really is the best time of year.
Zucchini is one of my favorite things on this earth. It's a summer gem that tastes fabulous straight off the grill, and yet it is a squash so we can totally call it seasonal come autumn. I love zucchini. Anyway and every way.
Let’s learn something new together.
Tomorrow is a very special day. One of my favorite days. Tomorrow is the first of September which means...PUMPKINS! CHAI! SWEATERS! AND ALL THE SCENTED CANDLES!
Can you tell that I'm excited?
